Medium: Acrylic, oil pastels on cloth, recycled frame

    This piece was inspired from a crystal cavern, 103 feet below ground,

where two crystals reached toward one another.

    They seemed almost to touch, yet held a quiet space between them. In

this painting, that moment transforms into two narwhals leaping from

shimmering pools. Their horns drawn close but never meeting.

    It is a vision of nearness, of thresholds, and of the beauty found in what

almost is.
